Is there an architecture of emergency?
What does “emergency” mean, and for whom?
Invited to exhibit the design for the Women’s Health Center, we chose instead to question its very presence in that setting. Rather than simply presenting a project, we opened a space of inquiry.
We involved artists and emergency experts to challenge the idea that design for emergencies is neutral or purely technical. The installation explored how states of emergency produce forms of power, spatial regimes, and fragile architectures of care..
