CIVIC STAGE / Geneva Metropolitan Area — Competition

A theatre is not only a place for performances. It is a civic device, an infrastructure where diverse forms of collective expression take place.

The Hive reimagines the theatre as an open system of spaces and flows. The technical core—normally hidden—is made visible and becomes part of the public experience. Vertical communication, movement of equipment, and stage transitions are exposed and transformed into a shared spectacle.

The architecture operates as a civic stage at the metropolitan scale, where production, rehearsal, encounter, and performance are intertwined. It is not only a container for events, but a relational infrastructure for the city.
