SHARED TABLE / Turin Polytechnic Cafeteria

This project transforms a former industrial shell into a porous social infrastructure. The building, once defined by its closed rhythm of production, is reactivated through light, transparency, and collective space.
The glass envelope frames the existing structure like a thin membrane, turning its weight into a framework for interaction. The central void works as a spatial commons: students, researchers, and visitors cross paths at different levels, suspended between interior and exterior.
The cafeteria is not only a place to eat. It is a shared tableāan infrastructural device for everyday encounters, informal exchanges, and the slow construction of community. The project blurs functional boundaries, transforming the building into a soft urban interface between academic and civic life.
